Bing Crosby

In 1977 Bing Crosby sat down to record what would be his last album, “Seasons.” On the album he chose to include songs with a theme from each time of year winter, spring, summer, and fall. He also included the Charles Aznavour penned song, that was translated into English by Herbert Kretzmer, “Yesterday When I Was Young.” Originally this song was made famous in America by “Hee Haw’s” bluegrass/country legend Roy Clark.

Bing Crosby – Old Man River

Bing Crosby sang “Old Man River” during his second year of stardom, around 1928, with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra. The music was written by Jerome Kern and the lyric was written by Oscar Hammerstein and was originally included in the 1927 Broadway musical “Showboat.”
